oif‘n weg… on the path

Oifn Weg

Whether it be two lovers, mother and son, or a person's dialogue with God - Jewish song, performed in Yiddish, Ladino and Hebrew, is interspersed with conversation. What could be more natural than for two masters of Jewish song to join forces and present these exciting and touching dialogues as a duo program?

With Daniel Kempin‘s powerful baritone and Elizabeth Neiman‘s velvety mezzo of, we bring together contrasting facets - dramatic, humorous and full of longing.

For many years, Elizabeth Neiman and Daniel Kempin have sung together "ad hoc" at various festivals in the context of the Egalitarian Minyan of the Frankfurt Jewish Community. Now we are at last "putting our money where our mouth is" and presenting a joint program. Classics like "baj mir bisstu schejn", "margeritkelech", We will sing clessics such as "Awram awinu" and "od jischama" as well as rarities like "a glesl wajn" (Yiddish), "por qué llorax?" (Ladino) and "eten bamidbar" (Hebrew). All songs are in original arrangements created especially for this program.
